Care of Jewelry
How do I care for my Navajo-style pearls?
Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time, especially when exposed to moisture, air, and chemicals. To keep your Navajo-style pearls looking their best, we recommend cleaning them regularly with a designated silver polishing cloth—preferably after each wear. You can find our polishing cloths under the “More Products” tab.
To help prevent tarnishing:
- Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, or using lotion, self-tanner, perfume, hairspray, or harsh chemicals.
- Put your jewelry on last when getting ready, as makeup and beauty products can speed up tarnishing.
- Never use liquid jewelry cleaners, solvents, or steam cleaners, as they can damage your jewelry.
- Store your pieces in a jewelry box or drawer lined with anti-tarnish fabric, or in anti-tarnish bags to help slow oxidation.
